About this book

You do not need a full Spanish course for a two-week trip. You need the right phrases in the right moments. This phrasebook gives you 114 of them, each with three parts: the Spanish phrase, a plain-English pronunciation guide, and the English meaning.

The phrases are organized by the situations you actually meet: greetings and polite basics, the airport, the hotel, the restaurant, asking directions, shopping and money, emergencies and health, and small talk. A pronunciation basics page at the front explains how Spanish letters sound and how stress works, so the pronunciation guides make sense on the first read.

The back of the book carries the mini vocabulary you will reach for constantly: 44 food and drink words, numbers 1 to 100, days of the week, months, and time expressions. Ten cultural tips round it out, and a two-page 50-phrase cheat sheet gives you the most-used phrases in one compact spread to carry or screenshot.

This is a travel-phrase guide, not a language course. It will not make you fluent, and it does not claim to. It gives you phrases you can use on day one.
